Oscar Burke
Oscar Burke is a ‘slash man.’ At one point or another, Oscar has owned a production studio (Rosewood Studios), produced and promoted Garifuna music (featuring the internationally famous Garifuna musician, Andy Palacio), and has played in multiple bands throughout Belize and Guatemala. Currently, Oscar owns and runs Olmec’s Bar & Restaurant, a local hang out right on the main marketplace, where locals drink Belikin beer and wax philosophical on history, culture and our modern day times. On his down time, Oscar manages and coaches the local football (soccer) team, Les Estrellas and is a devoted father, grandfather, and art collector. What Oscar is not however, is a chef. ‘The Restaurant in ‘Olmec’s Bar & Restaurant’ still needs to be worked out, we are currently hiring, you know how to cook?’ No sorry Oscar I don’t.Fun Fact: Oscar’s favorite bird is a ‘floater.’ In Oscar’s words, ‘He just goes where the wind takes him, like me.’
